About
What you need to know
The Melting Pot is a place to collaborate, network & discuss screen projects. The Melting Pot puts you and your ideas in front of the top decision makers in the Screen Industry. By joining the Melting Pot community you will be able to post information on yourself and your projects including footage and promo reels. We will be hosting webinars and posting the latest news, interesting jobs and industry events weekly. It will act like a one-stop shop for anyone working their way into the industry and it’s free to join.
The Melting Pot is an offshoot of SPAA Fringe, a two day event aimed at up and coming filmmakers. SPAA Fringe has been running for twelve years and is one of the most dynamic and interactive film events in Australia and has a history of impressive speakers including Rick McCallum, Producer Star Wars; Andrew Mason, Producer The Matrix; Amy Hobby, Producer Secretary and, of course, Peter Broderick, specialist in low budget, digital distribution – who is also our patron.
The Melting Pot and SPAA Fringe are initiatives of the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA). SPAA is a membership based organization providing information and resources, advice and insights, training and introductions to potential partners. Joining SPAA makes you part of a network of producers. The stronger that network is, the more effectively SPAA can operate. SPAA’s efforts benefit the production community as a whole and, most importantly Australian Audiences. For more information on SPAA membership contact our Membership Services Manager, the delightful Katie Fagan (Student and associate memberships are available).
